Our Story

Lydia and Taylor’s story began in June 2021 with a Hinge match—Lydia was charmed by Taylor’s collection of adventurous photos in gorgeous landscapes (especially the tea leaf field). From their first date, everything just clicked.

Between local adventures around New England were many treks between Lydia’s fourth-floor walk-up in the North End and Taylor’s place downtown… until Lydia found out she needed knee surgery. With heroic timing (and working elevators), Taylor brought his damsel in distress to an apartment on the 21st floor across from the Boston Common—rescue mission complete.

The next summer took them on their furthest adventure yet, to travel (and conduct research) across Cambodia, a place they fell in love with enough to move there the following year. More than a year and a half in Phnom Penh later, life led them to Washington, DC, but Asia never stopped calling. In late summer 2025, they returned, made an engagement ring together in Phnom Penh, and Taylor proposed in Hong Kong.

Now, as Taylor wraps up his PhD, they’re thrilled for whatever comes next. Whether it’s DC, Asia, or somewhere entirely unexpected, they’re ready to take on their next chapter together as Doctor and Mrs.
